The year 2020 has been hard on all of us. It has been devastating to the New York hospitality industry and the ability for small bars and restaurants to survive. As such, we have had to make the heart-breaking decision to put our dream on hold and delay the opening of Long Play. We have every intention of trying again once there is a vaccine and we know what the future holds for the New York bar scene. Sadly, now is not the time to open an intimate cocktail lounge.
Stay safe, wear a mask, and go vote.
Long Play Record Bar is a cocktail lounge and vinyl record lover's dream. Rather than the same old noisy neighborhood bars covered in TVs, Long Play will be an oasis; a perfect place to relax, listen to that crackle of vinyl on a high-end sound system and rediscover the art of conversation.
Based on a concept popular in Tokyo, Long Play Record Bar is an intimate cocktail bar for audiophiles. Along with solid, classic cocktails, wines and beer, customers will have the opportunity to whet their palate on premium sakes, chosen by the proprietor, a certified sake sommelier, all while enjoying that nostalgic, crackling sound of vinyl playing on the bar’s high-end sound system. The Long Play environment will be perfect for relaxing, without the distraction of TVs, enjoying good conversation, and great music enveloped in a mid-century modern decor, curated by a woman with impeccable taste. Coming to Long Play will be like walking into a good friend’s living room on a cold, wintry night—always warm and inviting.
